Hello. My name is Aayush. My Toku Mahi posts mean My Work . I'm 11 years old. My favourite sports are Soccer, Basketball, Rugby and Cricket. My goal for this year is to get the Gold Award.

TURANGAWAEWAE FESTIVAL
It was a busy day on Friday the 24. I arrived at school and it was so busy. After school I had a very good time and I also did the Jump Jam. It was the best Turangawewae Festival ever.

AWAROA TRIP
We are going to Awaroa of a trip on Friday ninth March. We will be going on the Wilsons boat from Kaiteriteri to Awaroa.. We will be looking at the famous house that was built in 1852. Now they have built a new house to replace the old one that looks like this one right here
AWAROA RECOUNT
The reasons we went on this trip were?.......... Because we wanted to learn about the history of Awaroa and to get some more fitness.
The journey went from?.......... School when we got in the cars and started heading off to Kaiteriteri . Once we got to Kaiteriteri we hopped on to the Wilson's boat.The boat stopped at heaps of places but finally we were at Awaroa.

Th benefits for me were?.......... Going on the boat and getting splashed by heaps and heaps of water. The walk was one of the best things that we did in the whole day and it got me a lot fitter.
15-3-12 DUFFY THEATRE
Yesterday was the Duffy Theatre. The carters were Duffy, Scruffy and last but not least The Best Book In The World.
It was very funny and there were heaps of raps. The songs were Teach me how to Duffy. There was a pirate named Rocky. At the end I had to say on the behalf of Parklands School " I would like to thank you for coming to entertain
us this afternoon." And thats the end of my recount
BOOK WEEK
1. We have book week because-to get kids into reading
2. During the- the week at 12:00 everyday though out the week we had drop everything and read for half an hour
3. On Friday we had a parade- so kids can dress up as someone from an island like Treasure Island. It's a picture book.

TREASURE ISLAND
This story starts in the Admiral Benbow, an inn. Jim Hawkins (played by Quin) works there. Billy Bones (played by Shanti) comes to stay. He has a map. He was once a pirate, a member of Captain Flint's crew. He is visited by Black Dog(Stevie )who fights him. Then the evil Blind Pew (Sasha ) comes and scares him to death.
Jim gets the map. He gets the Goodies, Dr Livesey (Charlie ), Mr Dance (Shannen ) and they hire a ship called the Hispaniola. The captain is Captain Smollett (Makayla ) who gets Long John Silver (Madison ) to collect a crew. Long John Silver is evil and one of Captain Flint's pirates. He collects all the other pirates and away they sail.
On the trip Jim hears of a plot to kill them. When they get to the island the Goodies go to the stockade. The baddies go in search of the treasure. An old pirate called Ben Gunn (Zion ) who has been marooned, arrives and joins the goodies .
Jim takes off and sails the ship around the island. The pirates have nowhere to go. There's a big fight. The pirates are winning until they hear Ben Gunn who they think is a ghost of Captain Flint. Ben screams horribly..
They all run away and the goodies find the treasure and sail back to England.
My favourite part was when the pirates went to the stockade.
My favourite character was Jim played by Quin.

NEW BUILDING
MY REPORT
Monday the 29th October 2012 was the grand opening of the new Multi-Purpose room and it is called
Aniwaniwa. Aniwaniwa means rainbow in Maori and the colours were red,orange,yellow,green,blue and purple. The Tukutuku panel was amazing and cool. Afterwards we got chocolate and a chocolate chip fudge cookie and then it was time for morning tea.
