Hello.  My name is Luke. My Toku Mahi post means.  My Work. This post will contain all my online work over the year. I hope you enjoy it.     I like to play sports.  My favourite sport is soccer.  My goal this year is to get a gold award.

AWAROA TRIP

This is the bay of Awaroa 

At Awaroa we are going to see the the first house built there.

The reasons we went on this trip were to learn about the history of Awaroa and fitness.

The journey went from: 

Kaiteriteri to Awaroa on the Wilson boat, then walked to Tonga Quarry and caught the boat back

The highlights for me were: the boat ride and seeing the house that the Hadfield family lived at. 

The benefits for me were: Exercise, some history and appreciate modern living

Duffy Theater 

Yesterday we went to see Duffy theater.  It was about how Duffy and Scruffy  and they went to clean out a box before they are allowed to play rugby.  Duffy found the best book in the world.  The book shows Duffy who has read it.

plot-It is about Bulstrode the barge how is in a really bad mood. He is arguing with the Trucks then Percy comes and moves the Trucks but the Trucks bursts  through some buffers and end up on Bulstrode .  the                                                                        

BOOK WEEK

1} We have book week because we want to encourage kids to read books.   

2} During the week we had drop everything and read.  Miss Sefton read us Nim's Island and then we watched the movie.    
3} On Friday we had a parade around the town. We got to dress up as something from a island or a pirate.

The Fireworks Maker Daughter 

On Wednesday we went to see the fireworks makers daughter at the theater royal in nelson.  The play was about a girl who want to become a firework make so she goes to a volcano to find the magic sofa then she goes back to find she has to win the fireworks thing to save her dad.  My favourite put was the big bang at the start to wake you up.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      

                             TREASURE ISLAND                                        

This story starts in the Admiral Benbow, an inn.  Jim  Hawkins (played by Quin) works there.  Billy Bones (played by Shanti) comes to stay.  He has a map.  He was once a pirate, a member of Captain Flint's crew.  He is visited by Black Dog(Stevie )who fights him.  Then the evil Blind Pew (Sasha ) comes and scares him to death.

Jim gets the map.  He gets the Goodies, Dr Livesey (Charlie ),  Mr Dance (Shannen ) and they hire a ship called the Hispaniola.  The captain is Captain Smollett (Makayla ) who gets Long John Silver (Madison ) to collect a crew.  Long John Silver is evil and one of Captain Flint's pirates.  He collects all the other pirates and away they sail.

On the trip Jim  hears of a plot to kill them.  When they get to the island the Goodies go to the stockade.  The baddies go in search of the treasure.  An old pirate called Ben Gunn (Zion ) who has been marooned, arrives and joins the goodies .

Jim takes off and sails the ship around the island.  The pirates have nowhere to go.  There's a big fight.  The pirates are winning until they hear Ben Gunn who they think is a ghost of Captain Flint.  Ben screams horribly..

They all run away and the goodies find the treasure and sail back to England.

My favourite part was the end song

My favourite character was Jim Hawkins

The show as a whole was good

THE OLYMPICS

The 2012 summer Olympic were held in London. People from all over the world come to the Olympics to compete. New Zealand's performance was good getting 13 medals which meet their best medal count which was in Seoul in 1988.  The event I enjoyed was the track cycling.  

    

New Building 

This morning we went to the unveiling of the multi purpose room. The room was called Aniwaniwa, it means rainbow. It started with the whole school going and siting in front of it then whaea Gladys Taiangahue went and blessed it then we get to go in and look at the multi purpose. After that whaea Tania told us a story about the rainbow. Then we got a pot of gold.
