On the 24 of February at 4:00 on a Friday the turangawrawe festival got held at Parklands school
There was jump jam, zumba and salsa. Their was a lot of food and fun things to do like swimming in the pool, bouncy castles and entertainment. It was a great day.
On the 9th of March Room 1&2 are going from school to Kaiteriteri in cars and catching the Wilsons boat to Aworoa. We are going to be going swimming and learn some history about it then we will be going on a long 2hour walk from Awarora to Tonga Quarry then we will catch the boat from there to Kaiteriteri.

AWOROA TRIP
Looking over Awora

For us to learn more history of Awaroa to get us fit and have fitness and have a good day out of the class.

Parklands school to Kaiteriteri then on the Wilson's boat to Awaroa and learnt some history and tthen went on a two hour walk to Tonga Quarry and caught the Wilson's boat agin back to Kaiteriteri.
The highlights for me were:
Seeing stingrays and going on the Wilson's boat.
The benefits for me were:
Fitness and learning history about Adele Hadfield.
DUFFY THEATE15:03:12
On the 14:03:12 Parklands school went to the Duffy theater in the Huia club rooms next to our school . All of the little kids laughed but it wasn't that funny. The guy that was peforming came on stage and fell over on accident and nearly fell on a kid. There were 3 actors Duffy, Scruffy and Marble. Marble was a book and Duffy was Scruffys big brother. They all played diffrent parts. Scruffy thought he was cool and cracked out a nek minnit joke. Marble was the main character

Curious George And The Hot Air Balloon
Age suitable for: Any
Setting: A field withs heaps of hot air balloons because their a hot air balloon race going on. Their was heaps of diffrent balloons to look at.
Plot (Story) When George the Monkey and his owner the man with the yellow hat were looking at the hot air balloons before the race began the man with the yellow hat was'nt looking George climbed the rope that held the hot air balloons down it started to float away with George in it
Main Characters: George (Monkey) The man with the yellow hat
My Chosen Character: George because he is so cute
Why i chose this book and what my rateings are: 10/10Because George is curious and cute

During the week teachers from other classes come and read to us and after moring tea we stop and read for 30 minutes
On Friday we have book week the kids and adults that dressed up go on a parade down town to show off our costumes.

TREASURE ISLAND
This story starts in the Admiral Benbow, an inn. Jim Hawkins (played by Quin) works there. Billy Bones (played by Shanti) comes to stay. He has a map. He was once a pirate, a member of Captain Flint's crew. He is visited by Black Dog(Stevie )who fights him. Then the evil Blind Pew (Sasha ) comes and scares him to death.
Jim gets the map. He gets the Goodies, Dr Livesey (Charlie ), Mr Dance (Shannen ) and they hire a ship called the Hispaniola. The captain is Captain Smollett (Makayla ) who gets Long John Silver (Madison ) to collect a crew. Long John Silver is evil and one of Captain Flint's pirates. He collects all the other pirates and away they sail.
On the trip Jim hears of a plot to kill them. When they get to the island the Goodies go to the stockade. The baddies go in search of the treasure. An old pirate called Ben Gunn (Zion ) who has been marooned, arrives and joins the goodies .
Jim takes off and sails the ship around the island. The pirates have nowhere to go. There's a big fight. The pirates are winning until they hear Ben Gunn who they think is a ghost of Captain Flint. Ben screams horribly..
They all run away and the goodies find the treasure and sail back to England.
My favourite part was Makayla because her part was humourous
My favourite character was Makayla.
The show as a whole was awesome.

The Olympics for 2012 were held in London.
The USA got the most medals and china got the second most.
