On the 24 of February @ 4.00 Ruby , Zion and Me(Amelia) went to Parklands school for our Turangawaewae Festival. Our syndicate had a Kiwiana stall. We were selling Ice Cream with a Topping on top , Lollies , Cupcakes , Cans and Bottles of drink and some Punch . Ruby, Zion and Me(Amelia) were on the first shift . There was also a cake stall , Aunty Mere's fried bread , whitebait patties , sausage in bread and heaps more. There were some island singers , a group of dancers from the Motueka High School . I really liked this year's Festival :).

Tomorrow we are going to get the Wilson's boat to Awaroa. When we are at Awaroa we are going to look at the old house/homestead. Then we are going for a very long walk to Tonga Quarry to catch the boat . I can not wait:).

TOUCH RUGBY
On the 14th of March Parklands school played against Motueka south school. The score was 6 - 0 to us. The people that got the tries was Aurora who got 2 ,Olivia who got 1 , Aayush who got 2 and Hollie who got 1. Some of us just about got a try but got touched . At the end of the game the hooter had gone so it was the final play. Hollie got the ball. She dodged everyone then she sprinted to the try line to get a try. Everyone from the other team was chasing her . She was sprinting so hard she was just about at the try line. Then someone was just behind her so she ran really hard and she got the try.

Book week review
A few weeks ago it was book week. We have book week because we want little kiddies to be into reading and have fun while doing it. During the week room 1 read the book Nims island . On friday the whole school went on a parade through the town and then we went to the kindy across the road. I dressed up as a girl pirate .

TREASURE ISLAND
This story starts in the Admiral Benbow, an inn. Jim Hawkins (played by Quin) works there. Billy Bones (played by Shanti) comes to stay. He has a map. He was once a pirate, a member of Captain Flint's crew. He is visited by Black Dog(Stevie )who fights him. Then the evil Blind Pew (Sasha ) comes and scares him to death.
Jim gets the map. He gets the Goodies, Dr Livesey (Charlie ), Mr Dance (Shannen ) and they hire a ship called the Hispaniola. The captain is Captain Smollett (Makayla ) who gets Long John Silver (Madison ) to collect a crew. Long John Silver is evil and one of Captain Flint's pirates. He collects all the other pirates and away they sail.
On the trip Jim hears of a plot to kill them. When they get to the island the Goodies go to the stockade. The baddies go in search of the treasure. An old pirate called Ben Gunn (Zion ) who has been marooned, arrives and joins the goodies .
Jim takes off and sails the ship around the island. The pirates have nowhere to go. There's a big fight. The pirates are winning until they hear Ben Gunn who they think is a ghost of Captain Flint. Ben screams horribly..
They all run away and the goodies find the treasure and sail back to England.

the olympics
This years Olympics was held in London and athletes from all over the world went and attended the games.
New Zealand did well in this year's Olympic games because we got 6 gold, 2 sliver and 5 bronze medals that puts us 15th on the world leader board. United States Of America was first on the table with a total of 46 gold,29 sliver and 29 bronze.
I enjoyed watching the opening and closing ceremonies and I like watching the girls and boys doing the rhythmic gymnastics

New Building
This morning the whole school and some guests came to our school for the unveiling of the new multi-purpose room. It started off with Whaea Tania sang a maori song then she did a little speech and she also told us the name of the room it is called ANIWANIWA. Then Whaea Gladys went around the new multi-purpose room and put some blessed water on the walls and some other places. Then the whanau went in first then the little kids then it was our time to go around when we were walking around we touched the walls. Then whaea tania told us a story about a rainbow. Then the tukutuku panel got shown to us the name of that is WHAIA TE ITI KAHURANGI. Then we lined up to get a chocolate from the pot of gold cause whaea tania told us at the end of every rainbow there is a pot of gold
