TURANGAWAEWAE FESTIVAL
It was a really full on day for most of us kids. We were setting up some gazebos and other stalls around the rest of the school. As soon as I got to school I had to help some teachers put up one of the gazebos getting ready for the Turangawaewae festival. Parklands school seniors had made their own stall. Some of the other children's mothers and fathers had come in and gave us some cup cakes and other stuff like drinks and ice creams to sell at our school stall. We made quite a lot of money. I wasn't there though. I had to go to my great aunty's because my mum was at work and was picking us up from there so I couldn't do my shift. Our stall was called the kiwiana stall and had lots of nice and tasty things there. My favourite would of had to be the cup cakes and the ice creams with chocolate topping. There were three flavoured toppings there, chocolate caramel and strawberry. I like them especially the chocolate one. There were many kids in their national costume at the festival.
AWAROA TRIP
We are going on a trip to Awaroa for the day on Friday the ninth of March. We are going on a Wilsons boat. When we get there we are going to have a look at some of the things that are around Awaroa. Room one and two are going on this trip and I am going as well. We are going on this long walk for about two and a half hours long so we need to have all of our things ready to leave at nine o'clock in the morning. We will be getting on the boat at Kaiteriteri to go to Awaroa. I am looking forward to it and hope all you guys are as well. Its going to be a lot of fun so don't miss it and get ready fast. Go go go Can't waste any time now :).

Plot story
I don't like to brag and I don't like to boast, said Peter T. Hooper, just the other day when mum was out i really cooked something worth talking about! You see, I was sitting here resting my legs when i happened to pick up a couple of eggs and sort of got thinking - its sort of a shame that scrambled eggs always taste always the same. And the more that Peter T. Hooper moved on the more eggs he found and they were all different kinds of eggs.

My chosen character is Peter T. Hooper because he is the one that is doing all of the the egg finding and grabbing also u here much of the other characters so that is why.
Why I chose this book and what my ratings are
I chose this book because I used to have it when Iwas a little baby and every night before i go to sleep my mum would read this book to me and I really enjoyed it. My ratings are **** and a half.
The author of this book is: Dr. Seuss.

We have book week to encourage children to read books and to use the library.
During the week we did a Stop Drop and Read every day. Other teachers came and read to us.
On parade day we all dressed up in our Book Character costumes and paraded around the town.
We thank Becky for organizing it for us.
TREASURE ISLAND
This story starts in the Admiral Benbow, an inn. Jim Hawkins (played by Quin) works there. Billy Bones (played by Shanti) comes to stay. He has a map. He was once a pirate, a member of Captain Flint's crew. He is visited by Black Dog(Stevie )who fights him. Then the evil Blind Pew (Sasha ) comes and scares him to death.
Jim gets the map. He gets the Goodies, Dr Livesey (Charlie ), Mr Dance (Shannen ) and they hire a ship called the Hispaniola. The captain is Captain Smollett (Makayla ) who gets Long John Silver (Madison ) to collect a crew. Long John Silver is evil and one of Captain Flint's pirates. He collects all the other pirates and away they sail.
On the trip Jim hears of a plot to kill them. When they get to the island the Goodies go to the stockade. The baddies go in search of the treasure. An old pirate called Ben Gunn (Zion ) who has been marooned, arrives and joins the goodies .
Jim takes off and sails the ship around the island. The pirates have nowhere to go. There's a big fight. The pirates are winning until they hear Ben Gunn who they think is a ghost of Captain Flint. Ben screams horribly..
They all run away and the goodies find the treasure and sail back to England.

NEW BUILDING
on monday the 29th of october the WHOLE school lined up outside there classrooms and moved round VERY quietly to see our new amazing building called Aniwaniwa, Aniwaniwa is the name of the rainbow. When all of the school was sitting down on there seats there were some important people from the community that were coming into our school to see the amazing new building. It was all quiet the whole school was waiting for the introdusing of Aniwaniwa to be reveiled and then it happened whaea Gladys started going round the room bleasing the paintings and all the things in the molti-purpose room then fiona langford came with kyle wilsons mum bringing some cookies round to the teachers to give out to there class rooms after the unveiling of the new Building at our school on our way back to class we all got 1 biscute and 1 lollie each and then we could go back to class for morning tea.
